Nashville State Technical Community College's (NSCC) authority to award degrees is granted by the state legislature (Tennessee Code Annotated) [1] through the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR Manual, Enabling Legislation) [2], [3]. Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) bylaws [4], published in the TBR Policies and Guidelines Manual, give degree-granting authority to universities and colleges of the “State University and Community College System of Tennessee" (TBR Policy 1:02:01:00), of which NSCC is a designated member (listed under "Two-year Colleges" in TBR Policy 1:03:01:00) [5].
NSCC is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (COC/SACS) to award the Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree, the Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree, and the Associate of Science (A.S.) degree. |
