RATIONALE FOR COMPLIANCE JUDGMENT

Nashville State Technical Community College (NSCC) has taken steps within the past year to ensure that the college is in compliance with requirements to report substantive changes.  In June 2006 the college realized that some new programs and the Humphreys County Center, which had been transferred to NSCC from Columbia State Community College, had not been properly reported.  A June 2, 2006 letter to Dr. Wheelan reviewed every program change since the SACS 1997 reaffirmation in order to correct these errors [1].

In response to that letter, Dr. Wheelan’s letter of August 10 identified four required prospectuses [2], which were submitted on October 31, 2006.  These prospectuses were submitted for the Humphreys County Center, Early Childhood A.A.S. degree, Music Technology Certificate, and Horticulture Certificate.  A December 6, 2006 letter from Dr. Whalen approved the Music Technology proposal and requested additional information on the other three programs [3].  After the additional information was submitted on January 4, 2007, Dr. Wheelan notified NSCC of the approval of the other three proposals [4].
