The institution has a defined and published policy for evaluating, awarding, and accepting credit for transfer, experiential learning, advanced placement, and professional certificates that is consistent with its mission and ensures that coursework and learning outcomes are at the collegiate level and comparable to the institution’s own degree programs.  The institution assumes responsibility for the academic quality of any coursework or credit recorded on the institution’s transcript.

RATIONALE FOR COMPLIANCE JUDGMENT

 

Specific policies are published in the college catalog [1] that cover procedures related to awarding of credit for College Transfer, College Board Advanced Placement Examinations, College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), College-Level Examination Professional Certification, Course Waivers and Substitutions, Credit by Examination, Prior Work Experience, High School and Vocational Education Experience, courses evaluated by the National Program on Noncollegiate Sponsored Instruction (NPONSI) [3] and Military Schools (ACE) [4].  Each of these methods require the approval of the division academic dean [2] before credit is granted.
