Credit is given for noncredit course work in three possible ways as explained in the college catalog [1]. Credit for coursework completed during an individual's military experience is evaluated by using the American Council on Education’s (ACE) Guide to the Evaluation of Educational Experiences in the Armed Services [2]. Noncredit coursework that has been evaluated and listed by the National Program on Noncollegiate Sponsored Instruction (NPONSI) [3] is also granted credit in specific programs with the approval of the division dean. Credit for other noncredit course work can be granted through the Credit by Examination process, which requires the approval of the division dean. Through a unique business partnership with The Sage Group, students can receive credit from NSCC. This partnership is discussed more fully under Comprehensive Standard 3.4.7. |
