To open your Web site from your computer, click on File > Open Web. The last web that was viewed will open. Look at the top of the screen to determine where you are connected. If you are working on your local computer, you should see C:\videocourse. If you are working from the server, you will see http://ww2/nscc.edu/lastname_i. The important element to remember here is that if you are working directly on the web site (server), when you make changes, they will be made immediately. You do not need to publish. If you are working from C:\orientation on your local computer, you must publish for the students to see any changes. There are advantages either way, but the biggest advantage to working on your local computer and publishing is that you have a backup copy in case of a disaster.
We have been asked to remove email links from our web sites and to present the email address without a link mainly because students are trying to email from the library and their email accounts have not been set up. This will require a student to go to his or her email program to send an email to the instructor.
To remove the email link,
- Open FrontPage and go to the page where the email link displays.
- Select the email address.
- Click the Insert Hyperlink icon on the standard toolbar. It looks like a blue world.
- Click the Remove Link button.
- Save the file.

- You are now ready to import or type your new syllabus.
Management Option
You may want to consider organizing your form results that go to your email address by creating a folder for each course and dragging the forms to the folder. This will save some printing costs.
To create a folder in Outlook,
- Click on the Inbox.
- Choose File > New Folder.
- Key a name. The folder will appear under Inbox.
- When you see an email with the form information, drag it to the folder to save it.
