Text Box: Banner Student Self Service allows students, faculty and staff to use a web-interface anywhere Internet access is available to accomplish the following tasks: - Search for classes by term, dates, academic area, or availability. - Check account balances and make payments. - Request transcripts and submit intent to graduate forms. - Update personal information such as mail and email addresses, telephone numbers, and employers. - Check own progress toward degree. - Input grades. - Search for open rooms by type (e.g. computer lab), available equipment (e.g. overhead projector), and availability. - Calculate faculty load and automatically generate appropriate contracts.    

Text Box: SCT Banner Student replaces our current SCT Plus SIS system.  As you might imagine, Banner Student’s primary purpose is to manage student records.  But there are multiple aspects to managing those records, and many different groups of people will benefit from Student’s features: - Degree Audit—provides advisor or student access to student’s current courses and progress towards selected degree.  Indicates classes remaining for degree completion, linked to class schedules. - Real-time Updates—changes made to course requirements, class schedules, faculty loads, and account balances including financial aid awards are updated dynamically, providing current status rather than waiting for overnight updates. - Tracking—on-line recruiting, application, registration, financial aid integration, and transfer credit evaluation allow access to student status and progress for all authorized personnel. - Faculty Dashboard—integrates faculty classroom, office, and in-service schedules.  Tracks history of classes taught and in-service sessions attended. Text Box: Bill Corbett is NSCC’s Banner Trainer.  He will provide both functional and end user training.  Bill started with the college in 1999 working in Computer Services and later moved to Workforce Training.  He also writes a syndicated column that appears in the Nashville Parent Magazine.
