Graduating students receive credit for numerous GM training courses. Many students graduate with some or all ASE certifications. Scholarships and Tuition assistance is available to those that qualify.

Career enhancement opportunities exist for GM ASEP graduates to progress within the Dealer Organization, such as Service Managers, Parts Managers, Fixed Operation Managers, just to name a few.

ATEP

Offered by Nashville State Community College, the two-year Automotive Technology Educational Program (ATEP) provides hands-on training with the latest technologies including electronics, automotive brakes, suspension and steering, climate control, automatic transmission, manual transmission, driveline, differentials, engine repair, and engine performance. The hands-on training prepares students to work in automotive dealerships or repair shops. Successful completion of the required courses will result in 60 college credits and an associate of applied science degree in Automotive Technology.

During the program, students will alternate between periods of formal training and on-the-job experience. Due to the requirement of on-the-job experience, students must maintain sponsorship with participating dealerships or service facilities. NSCC assists students in obtaining dealer sponsorship.
