The Information Technology programs at Nashville State Technical Community College offer a wide variety of IT courses to ensure that the student can reach his/her goal. The programs are designed to prepare students to work in the growing field of Information Technology.
The Information Technology discipline is separated into three different programs: Computer Information Systems (CIS), Computer Networking Technology (CNT), and Computer Technology (CPT).
The CIS program prepares students for employment in the Information Technology field in the area of systems development and analysis. The CIS program has two concentrations that have been developed to map the curriculum to the skill standards that are being used in industry today. The two concentrations in the CIS program are Application Developer and Systems Analyst.
The CNT program prepares students for employment in the Information Technology field in the area of network infrastructure. The program includes theoretical and practical components, preparing entry-level networking technicians to design, install, monitor, maintain, and enhance network infrastructure.
The CPT program prepares students for employment in the Information Technology field as an entry level computer technician. Students become proficient in operating systems, installation and maintenance of a variety of computers, and various hardware and networking components.
