Searching Athena
Athena searches materials from 14 different Middle Tennessee schools:
Aquinas, Austin Peay, Belmont, Brentwood Public, Cumberland, Fisk, Lipscomb, Middle Tennessee State, Nashville State CC, Public Library of Nashville, Tennessee State, Trevecca Nazarene, Vanderbilt, and Volunteer State CC.
If Nashville State doesn't have a book you need, search here to find out where a book is located in the Middle Tennessee area.
- • Search by keyword, author, title, or subject headings.
• Advanced Search: combine search strategies using and, or, or not.
(Examples: author, title, keyword, series title, subject headings, ISBN and ISSN.)
• Browse by title phrase, author phrase, or subject headings.
• When you find a book you want you can save the search by clicking the SAVE button in the upper right corner of the record screen.
• Print the save screen and fill out an Interlibrary Loan request form (found at the circulation desk), and give the form to one of the librarians. There is also an online form.
• You can request it through the “Ask a Librarian." You need to give us the title of the book, author, ISBN (if possible), publisher, date of publication, your name, A number, and phone number. We will call you or e-mail you when it comes in.
• From the saved screen you can e-mail the books you want directly to the interlibrary loan department:deborah.tudeme@nscc.edu
