Value in Resources

Through the first-year experience at Nashville State, you will understand the connections between your courses and your ultimate academic goals.

As a student, it’s likely that you have completed an assignment or finished studying for a final exam and thought, “Why will I ever need to know this?” As a result of the first year experience at Nashville State, you will spend time reflecting on the value of courses in your major as well as required general education courses. Studies in Tennessee have shown that those students who see value in their course work are more likely to succeed, so your understanding of the value of your courses helps you succeed!

The Cooperative Education and Internship program is an excellent opportunity for students who are looking for a way to start an immediate career. The program allows students to choose their own hours, giving you the freedom to balance your internship hours and school load in a way that bests suits your needs. Since joining the program, I have received several job offers and have gained valuable experience to make me competitive in the IT field.
