Staff Information
The mission of Nashville State Community College is to provide quality education to members of the community. To that end, Nashville State is undertaking a college-wide quality enhancement plan (QEP) to improve student success through the first-year experience. Studies show that certain actions and student knowledge are connected to a higher likelihood of student success. Staff support of those actions and knowledge is critical to the success of this QEP. Please see the resources to the left to learn more.
I love facilitating New Student Orientation! It is so inspiring to welcome our new students to NSCC and truly honor their decision to pursue a higher level of education. We educate them about the resources and services available on each campus to help them be successful in their academic, professional and personal goals. They learn about Nashville State, how to navigate our website and myNSCC, how to use Degree Works and advising sheets and they learn how to register for classes. It’s truly awesome to be a part of something new and so positive in each of these students’ lives.
Danielle Scwartz-Koufman, Admissions Counselor
New students often enter NSCC completely unaware of the value of the Library and Learning Center. Now students will learn early on in their college careers that these resources are the gateway to students success.
Emily Bush, Instruction Librarian
I love hearing students describe how much more they learned in NSCC 1010 than what they expected. They are excited to have a clear and personalized path to obtain their educational goals.
Christina Shaffer, Secretary III
Working on the QEP committee has highlighted for me the importance of getting students connected to Nashville State starting with their first contact with the college. Once they have the opportunity to interact with our outstanding staff and faculty, I know they are more likely to enroll as a student with us.
