Computer Skills Learning Modules

These modules are designed to provide a fast track for learning computer skills. The skills can be used as a basis to support class assignments and critical thinking exercises as well as problem-solving projects.

Basic computer and Internet skills are provided as a reference. To access "Basic Skills," click the link on the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

Click the module title on the navigation bar at the top of the page to go to each of the training modules.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the modules, you should be able to:

• Type a correctly formatted report in MLA style using Microsoft^® Word.
• Create and give a Microsoft^® PowerPoint presentation.
• Create a grade book using Microsoft^® Excel.
• Identify terminology associated with creating and designing a database using Microsoft^® Access.
• Use Internet search tools to locate resources for academic research.
• Access and use library databases and other library resources.

Computer Requirements

• Access to a computer with the Microsoft^® Office Suite including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
• JavaScript enabled browser and the latest version of Macromedia Flash Player (free download). A high-speed connection for viewing the video clips is recommended.
• Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download)
