Are you at your best when you have your hands on a hammer or a saw? If so, this program will teach you the basic skills needed to get a job as a residential carpenter. Students explore what it’s like to work in construction, learn the basic math used on the jobsite, and how to read a blueprint. In addition, students learn how to use both hand and power tools effectively and safely, and discover how to construct a home from the floor to the roof. Finally, skills are put to use in three hands-on workshop projects. By the time program is done, students should be ready for an entry-level position in the construction industry.
This online certificate program is offered in partnership with major colleges, universities, and other accredited education providers.
