March 2024 Report
In March 2024, The Teaching Center scheduled, promoted, moderated, and updated The Teaching Center’s data tracking of attendance for 11 professional development sessions. The Teaching Center promoted 17 professional development opportunities during March, including those from TBR and outside groups.
The Teaching Center continues to lead 2 professional learning communities.
The Teaching Center continues to lead and facilitate a cohort of NSCC faculty in the ACUE Effective Teaching Practices course. 4 faculty have earned the Credential in Effective College Instruction, and many more are on track to complete their credentials during April.
ACUE Effective Online Teaching Practices Cohort applications opened in mid-March, and we currently have 28 people signed up for the cohort. There are 5 remaining spots, and when these are filled, we will start a waiting list.
The call for proposals for Fall Flourish: Refreshing Your Teaching Toolbox was sent to the NSCC community in March. 17 proposals have been submitted thus far. We will be working to develop the schedule for the conference during April.
This academic year, The Teaching Center has led NSCC employees in 2,229.36 hours of professional development, including 1447.67 hours focused on Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices (CRTP.)
Since 2019, The Teaching Center has led NSCC employees in 8,519.96 hours of professional development, including 4,720.56 hours focused on Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices (CRTP.)
