The President of Nashville State Technical Community College has ultimate control of the institution’s fund-raising activities. The chief development officer for the college reports up through the President of the college[1]. Nashville State recognizes the importance of gifts to the college that are consistent with its mission and that help to reach its goals [2]. All gifts to the institution must be given through the development office. Gifts are also given directly to the Nashville State Community College Foundation which raises funds for the benefit of the college[3]. The chief development officer and the President are ex-officio members of the Foundation Board of Trustees and in that capacity guide all fundraising efforts to ensure compatibility with the mission of Nashville State Technical Community College. The President and the chief development officer serve on the Executive Committee of the Foundation [4] and as an ex-officio member of all standing committees. The chief development officer is also a voting member of the Development Committee [5]. The Vice President of Finance and Administrative Services for the college functions as the treasurer of the Foundation. The Vice President reports to the President. Minutes of Foundation meetings are recorded and distributed [6]. |
