Introduction

This web site contains my Learning Report for the Nashville State Community College Visual Communications Web Development Capstone course.  Over the course of a semester, students build one or more web sites for actual real-world clients.  The course is the final class in NSCC’s Web Development program and is designed to utilize skills that the student has learned overthe duration of the program.  Completion of the Capstone course means that the student has demonstrated proficiency in the methods and tools used to create a professional business web site.

Members of the class included Kristy Johnson, Melissa Laster, Jennifer Swain, and Mick McLaughlin.  Melissa dropped the class midway through due to time constraints. Our instructor was Dale Rogers.

We created two web sites for the Fall 2008 capstone class:

Yard Sale 4 U logo YrdSale4U is a new business owned by Lynn Shelton which will run yard sales for clients who would rather not take on the task themselves.  The web site provides a means for clients to contact YrdSale4U for their services, and a listing of upcoming yard sales that YrdSale4U will be conducting.

Petite Boutie logoPetite Boutique is an existing business located in Cool Springs which specializes in clothing for petite women.  Owners Laurie Roe and Lori Peffer needed a redesign of their existing web site.  In addition to an updated look and functionality, the new site includes a product gallery of Petite Boutiques products.
