What’s in a Word? Strategies to Support Academic Vocabulary Development and Retention
Typical, college-bound high school graduates are fluent in approximately 18,000 word families. However, many community college students arrive with a significantly smaller set at their disposal. This session will focus on a variety of strategies and techniques for supporting NSCC students as they develop and expand their academic and discipline-specific vocabulary.
