Sample Assessments

A requirement of a SACSCOC Quality Enhancement Plan is a complete assessment plan that documents how data on student learning outcomes will be gathered, analyzed, and used over the course of the five-year plan. Nashville State’s assessment plan is set up to take three direct measurements of each student learning outcome during the first-year experience. Those data points will be collected at the beginning of the first term and then at the end of each of the first and second terms for each student involved. A series of indirect measures will also be monitored over time to determine whether those students who experience the QEP are more successful than students who did not.

An important piece of the assessment plan includes on-going reviews of data each term to determine if changes need to be made to the plan mid-stream.
