    • “What’s my grade?” By sharing grades online via D2L, students have a confidential, 24/7 way to access both individual grades, and, if you like, their course average. This workshop will demonstrate how to:
    • Navigate the D2L gradebook,
    • Run the gradebook’s Setup Wizard,
    • Create grade categories and items, and
    • Enter and manage grades.

    • According to Brielle Harbin of Vanderbilt University’s Teaching Center, “Students on campuses across the country have become increasingly vocal in resisting binary thinking with respect to gender identity and expression.” As more and more students claim their transgender and non-binary gender identities, it’s important for instructors to have a degree of fluency with gender non-binary vocabulary and an understanding of how to make trans, non-binary and other gender non-conforming students feel welcomed. This session will cover the spectrum of trans and non-binary gender identities and offer a set of best practices for making these students feel recognized and respected in our classrooms.

  • Candid Career Information Session
    • This workshop will provide an outline of Candid Career which was recently purchased by Career Services. Candid Career provides 3-4 minute videos on careers (organized by major or title of occupation) and “get hired” advice videos (including soft skills advice) that schools can use to embed in course shells, presentation, share over email, and embed on websites. All videos have an optional quiz to complete that can be submitted to an instructor/advisor for credit. These videos are a great tool to increase the awareness of soft skills in our students.
